[:en]In the village of Askana, you can find some of the best bentonite clay in the world. On the way to Askana Castle, you will pass by the clay quarry and the lake. This is a fence surrounded by two towers, standing on a high hills and overlooks the valley of Bakhvistskali. The Askani and Likhauri Castles were in operation in the 19th century and therefore, they are among the best-preserved castles in Guria. There are two old churches near the castle. In Vaniskedi, a XI century church is restored, but the Church of Instkhirveli family is in ruins.
